Charlevoix CountyFirst named Keskkauko, the county was created from Mackinac County in 1840. Three years later its name was changed to Charlevoix. The county was absorbed by Emmet County in 1853 and recreated from Emmet, Antrim, and Otsego counties in 1869. County government also was organized in 1869. County
