Libraries

Libraries often have collections of published genealogical materials, including books and microfilms.

The Abrams Foundation Historical Collection of genealogy materials at the Library of Michigan is one of the largest collections in the state. It includes census records, city directories, county histories, newspapers, land records, and vital records. The Burton Historical Collection at the Detroit Public Library is another large collection in the state.
