Research logsResearch logs are lists of sources checked and a summary of the results found. They will help you keep track of your progress. Some researchers keep separate correspondence logs to keep track of letters and e-mails sent, while others prefer to include all research activity in one log. Research logs should include the date of the activity, the type of activity, and the results of the activity. You may wish to have one research log for each individual or family being researched. There are several styles of research logs. Research logs can be downloaded for free from several Web sites, including Family Tree Magazine <www.familytreemagazine.com/forms/download.html>. |
